Type: Granite Soldier Monument

Description: Granite Civil War Soldier "at rest". The supporting column is engraved: "1911 ~ Erected ~ By ~ Phil Sheridan ~ Post No 88 ~ Grand Army Of The Republic ~ By Public Subscription". Below this is engraved a large GAR badge. Below the badge is engraved: "The Men In Whose Honor This ~ Monument Was Erected Were Led ~ By The Fires Of Liberty. ~ They Fought For No North ~ Or South, No East No West, But For ~ One Glorious And United Country."

The base of the column is engraved: " In Memory Of The ~ Vol. Defenders ~ Of The Union ~ 1861 - 1865".

Type: Bronze Eagle Statue

Description: A cast eagle is mounted on a granite block. A cast plaque, mounted below the eagle reads: "Clay County ~ Veterans Memorial ~ The Grateful People Of ~ Clay County Kansas Dedicate ~ This Monument To Keep ~ Alive The Memories Of ~ All Men And Women Who ~ Served The ~ United States Of America ~ In Peace And War ~ All Gave Some, Some Gave All". Below the inscription are mounted round bronze medallions of the five modern branches of the Armed Services.

A small plaque on the side identifies the cast eagle as " "ABOVE IT ALL", sculptress - Sandy Scott, Dedicated September 27, 1997".
